There are A LOT of habit-related books out there (think about The Power of Habit and The Small Big to name just two), but we think James Clear’s Atomic Habits (Random House 2018) is worth adding to your habit reading list.
We all know that habits come and go, so if you’ve found yourself getting back into ‘bad’ habits that you’d rather break, this book offers good, practical advice. When it comes to building a set of positive habits, Clear draws on the well-proven theory of ‘habit stacking’ (making a series of small changes that link to one another. But he also employs the fundamentals of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy – identifying the cue, craving, response and reward cycle.
This book is practical and offers reinforcement and motivation to get back into the good habit groove.
